The season in numbers
Prep is scored on both sides of a war, so the raw total looks huge. Counted once per matchup, kingdoms put up about 4.41 trillion prep points this cycle. Median kingdom score was 3.45B. Mean sat a bit higher at 3.74B, which is the top end pulling the average up. Last season those figures were 3.92T, a 3.26B median, and a 3.47B mean. The whole board moved up, and one kingdom moved it a lot.
| Stat | Figure |
|---|---|
| Matchups | 1,179 |
| Kingdoms that fought | 2,358 |
| Byes | 11 |
| Prep points (one side per war) | 4.41T |
| Median prep score | 3.45B |
| Kingdoms over 10B prep | 30 |
| Kingdoms over 5B prep | 579 |
| Prep + castle sweeps | 736 (63% of scored wars) |
| Prep won, castle failed | 440 (37%) |
| Prep lost, castle held | 440 (37% of prep losers) |
| Castles that fell | 736 (63% of scored wars) |
If you lost prep, you still had a real shot at keeping the throne. A bit under two in five defending kingdoms held. If you won prep, you converted a castle take about 63% of the time. Same shape as Season 21, which landed at 62% and 38%.

Highest prep scores
These are the ten biggest scores, win or lose. K924 is in a league of its own. K321 lost the matchup and still sits third.

Kingdom 1 landed 135th with 7.44B against K39 (3.39B) and took the castle. Killua was appointed High King on both thrones. A clean sweep, and not a top-ten prep. Last season Kingdom 1 was 87th at 7.30B and swept K87.
The smallest prep win of the season was K288 at 341M over K386 (277M). They took the castle too.
Winning prep did not mean winning the castle
The headline of the cycle is K924. Biggest prep score we have on record, 31.72B to 9.64B, and they did not take the castle. K685 held. Disney stayed king in 685. Panda' was appointed king in 924, which is what the attacking kingdom does when the siege fails. It is not a hold of 924's own castle. That castle was never in play.
Last season the biggest score in the game was K301 at 16.2B, and they also failed the siege. K924 almost doubled that number and got the same castle result. It is the highest scoring failed siege in the table, by a wide margin.
K172 is the other one people will argue about. Second on the prep board, 16.41B to 15.82B, only 592 million in it, and K321 held. merk stayed king there. A top-two score and a near-even war, and the castle stayed put.
Highest prep scores that failed the siege:
| Kingdom | Prep | Opponent | Opponent prep |
|---|---|---|---|
| K924 | 31.72B | K685 | 9.64B |
| K172 | 16.41B | K321 | 15.82B |
| K203 | 12.28B | K365 | 8.89B |
| K125 | 12.25B | K163 | 10.76B |
| K855 | 12.08B | K710 | 7.13B |
K203 has never lost a prep in 17 recorded KvKs. This time they won 12.28B to 8.89B and still could not take the castle. K125 won a 12.25B to 10.76B war against K163 and bounced off too.
Holds worth a look, ranked by the defender's own prep:
| Kingdom | Their prep | Attacker's prep | Attacked by |
|---|---|---|---|
| K321 | 15.82B | 16.41B | K172 |
| K163 | 10.76B | 12.25B | K125 |
| K671 | 10.39B | 11.01B | K626 |
| K435 | 9.82B | 10.11B | K496 |
| K685 | 9.64B | 31.72B | K924 |
K321 is the highest scoring hold. K685 is the hold against the biggest attack we have ever recorded.

| K837 | 12.95B | K999 | 12.34B |

| K2312 | 11.21B | K2297 | 2.72B |
| K1079 | 11.16B | K761 | 4.80B |
K231 is the highest prep score that actually converted. Dutton was appointed High King over K240. K231 was already near the top of Season 21, and they did it again at a higher number. On our record they are 14 for 14 when they win prep.
K837 is the tight one in this list: 12.95B to 12.34B against K999, and they still took the castle. K988 doubled K900, 12.72B to 5.10B, and finished it. Newer kingdoms were in the deep end too. K2312 put up 11.21B, fourth among the sweeps, and took K2297.
Closest prep wars
These are the smallest gaps as a share of the combined score. Several of them were decided by less than a million points.
| Kingdom | Score | Opponent | Opponent score | Gap | Then what |

| K329 | 827M | K346 | 827M | 328K | K329 won prep, siege failed |
| K2000 | 5.79B | K2034 | 5.79B | 2.66M | K2000 took the castle |
| K1327 | 2.15B | K1254 | 2.15B | 1.21M | K1327 won prep, siege failed |
| K2239 | 3.21B | K2261 | 3.21B | 2.25M | K2239 took the castle |
| K26 | 785M | K24 | 784M | 639K | K26 won prep, siege failed |
| K1640 | 5.58B | K1651 | 5.58B | 4.59M | K1640 won prep, siege failed |
| K1795 | 3.57B | K1767 | 3.56B | 3.67M | K1795 won prep, siege failed |
K58 vs K71 is the narrowest board of the season: 287,000 points on a 1.34B war, and the siege still failed. K2000 vs K2034 is the one that finished. Same 5.79B line on both sides, 2.66 million in it, and K2000 took the castle.
Biggest stomps
Largest prep ratios among winners. The eight biggest all converted.
| Kingdom | Score | Opponent | Opponent score | Ratio | Castle |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| K937 | 6.04B | K891 | 491M | 12.3x | Won |
| K993 | 5.83B | K606 | 919M | 6.3x | Won |
| K1081 | 9.35B | K836 | 1.76B | 5.3x | Won |
| K1213 | 5.48B | K1126 | 1.11B | 4.9x | Won |
| K777 | 8.55B | K729 | 1.75B | 4.9x | Won |
| K541 | 6.12B | K494 | 1.31B | 4.7x | Won |
| K219 | 4.75B | K186 | 1.02B | 4.7x | Won |
| K572 | 3.97B | K514 | 853M | 4.7x | Won |
The ratio list all converted. The failed sieges were elsewhere. K1011 beat K601 2.67B to 670M, about 4 to 1, and still did not take the castle. And K924's 3.3 to 1 against K685 was a smaller ratio with a much bigger scoreboard.
Career notes
Season 22 sits on top of the history already on the kingdom pages. A few long streaks moved this weekend.
The streak that ended. In the Season 21 recap, K924 was the only kingdom at 100%: 11 sweeps in 11 KvKs. They won prep again, 31.72B to 9.64B, and for the first time the castle did not fall. They are still 12 for 12 on prep. They are 11 for 12 on finishing the castle.
Never lost a castle after winning prep, at least 8 KvKs:
K685 belongs in both stories. When they win prep, they have taken the castle all 10 times. This season they were the defender, and they held the biggest attack on record.
Never lost prep, 12 or more KvKs: K203 and K123 are 17 for 17. K359 is 16 for 16. K417 is 15 for 15. K924 is 12 for 12, with the siege miss above. A handful of others sit at 14 or 13.
